PROJECT OVERVIEW
A Record of Records is a booklet that I designed in order to celebrate the physical records that have shaped my personal soundtrack. This collection takes you on a journey through genres from the riffs of classic rock to the ethereal soundscapes of dreampop, each entry offering insights into the history, design, and cultural impact of each album.
DEVELOPMENT
Drawing inspiration from the interactive experience of vinyl records, I designed the book with the concept of physically pulling a record out of its sleeve to engage with it. To bring this vision to life, I crafted the book cover to resemble a record, incorporating a record label that houses all the book's information. I also centered my design on the spreads of the book around a circle in order to reflect the geometry of a record.
CHALLENGES AND OUTCOME
The primary challenge of the project was determining the size of the final outer sleeve for the booklet for print. Additionally, finding an effective solution to showcase the variety of packaging and record designs within the constraints of just two pages was a complex task.
